Eligibility 

01

For-profit small company registered in Kentucky.

03

Have not received a mircroAward in the past 12 months.

02

Committed to submitting a SBIR/STTR proposal in the next 6 months.

04

Have SBIR/STTR award(s) or have prior training on writing SBIR/STTR proposals.

Appropriate Use of Funds

Examples of Eligible Use of Funds:

  • Fee for services for things that you cannot do in-house (e.g. lab testing, prototype fabrication, technical consultants) 

  • Travel expenses to conferences for customer discovery, lab testing 

  • Materials for tests or prototypes

Examples of Ineligible Use of Funds:

  • Buying equipment

  • Hiring a grant writer/consultant

  • Paying your own employees 

  • Paying rent
